Carving Corners — 69 Camaro SS
'69 Camaro The '69 Camaro has become an American icon. Recognized as the most-desirable year for the popular model, the perfectly-proportioned first-generation of Chevy's Ponycar came into it's own as a true performance piece in 1969.

Jason Huber's Chambersburg, PA-based example stands as a strong argument for why these cars are so desired, and the story behind this one is full of twists and turns not unlike those the car regularly conquers with confidence.

That confidence comes from a combination of 3-inch drop rear springs, tubular control arms, and heavy duty bushings, all from DSE. The anti-sway bars are from Hotchkis, as are the lowered front coil springs. A rebuilt quick-ratio AGR steering box was also added to crispen the feel at the wheel.

The power transplant of an LS1 and TKO 5-speed brought the almost-restored Camaro to new heights and the modern engineering now found in, on, and under the car contrasted wonderfully with it's time-honored style. For Jason, it was the completion of his dream to own a classic '69 Camaro with the performance of a late-model sports car.
