From a Pile of Junk Yard Parts to Car Show Gold
Parts Sculpture
The hallowed ground of the salvage yard ignites a fire in many a car enthusiast that burns with the history, the memories, and of the cars yet to be built. In 1999 James Corbett had the same reaction walking through the auto recycling business he managed, but he acted on the urges in a different manner.

Many of the cars Jim builds are sculptures of the off road buggies he's raced for over ten years, all made entirely of automobile parts welded together to retain their original shapes but collectively becoming something faster and more dynamic than just pieces of scrap iron.

One piece made for fun turned into more for friends and customers which eventually led to a Pebble Beach Concourse display and an eleven foot Type A Auto Union race car for the Essen Motor Show in Germany that has over 600 pieces.

Find out more about James and see some of his other work at website.
