High Plains Hauler — '59 Apache |
Many hot rod shops have a "gap project" in the corner, meant to fill time between paying projects. Progress on it creeps along and on most days, you'd guess they were completely forgotten.
This scenario played out for the guys at Ramirez Rod & Custom of Casper, WY when they picked up a '59 Chevrolet Apache pickup for just such a project. As the truck neared its one-year anniversary in the shop, the mood shifted and the project elevated from gap filler to "let's get her out the door" status.
Shaved door handles, a smoothed tailgate, and a custom steel center console were some of the many understated features that make up this impressive driver. Of course it was probably the gorgeous Copper Pearl paint that attracted the surprising new owner.
