Are you a Body or Chassis Fan? |
|
|
It's bound to happen. Ten minutes into giving a gawker the rundown on all the suspension, brake, and steering mods you've made that command the envy they're giving, they drop the death blow.
"Did you ever think about just starting with new?" It seems like an innocent question but it triggers the stress of obsessing over all the immediate zeros attached to the rolling chassis you passed on, but spent about the same as anyway.
Modify original or build on a prefab chassis, your money gets turned into high tech metal either way but the debate lingers. Is a car's model defined by it's drivetrain and frame or by its body's appearance?
A company called Retrobuilt has taken this question to the next level by laboriously fabricating a '69 Shelby GT500 Mustang looking body that drops on and directly connects to an otherwise stock 2008 Mustang GT.
How much does it look like the original? Head on over to Retrobuilt's website and judge for yourself. |
