Applying Pressure to your Transmission |
|
|
Transference of power is a beautiful thing. Reposition your right foot three inches when you're behind the wheel and your ears perk up with the anticipated rumble.
Some guys like to accentuate the horsepower handoff from the engine to their automatic transmission with a stall converter that doesn't fully say "go" until the rev's have their game face on, but that kind of performance under pressure comes at a price.
If you're looking for more thrills in the seat of your pants when the torque hits, don't assume stall converters are your strongest option unless you're ready to address the heat issues that come with driving them at lower rpm's.
If you're strapped for cash but want a good solid grip between the gears, consider a shift improver kit that has a milder response but delivers a huge return on your modest investment.
B&M has kit's that contain everything you need to put a little jerk in your power's "potential to application" process. Regular hand tools and an afternoon install are all that's required.
Why not keep it simple this weekend and stall on your big pressure transfers until after you've checked out some shift kit options?
