5 Courses to Play in 2010 |
|
|
Tired of playing the same old courses round after round? Some pizzazz is in order, something that'll get your golf juices flowing again. Our suggestion: Play a new course this year, like a new Tom Fazio, Pete Dye, Tom Doak or Rees Jones.
Here's our recommended play list:
- Blue Top Ridge Golf Club (Riverside, Iowa) by Rees Jones offers stunning vistas overlooking two rivers.
- Butterfield Trail Golf Club (El Paso, Texas) is a Tom Fazio-designed daily fee course with over 55 feet of elevation changes and wondrous natural sand dunes.
- Old Macdonald (Bandon Dunes, Oregon) is the fourth course at the Bandon Dunes Resort and is scheduled to open in June. It's designed by Tom Doak and Jim Urbina and is a tribute to architect Charles Blair Macdonald.
- Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort (French Lick, Indiana), which opened in June 2009, offers 40-mile panoramic views of the countryside in all directions.
- Waldorf Astoria Golf Club (Orlando, Florida) by Rees Jones is adjacent to the first Waldorf Astoria hotel built outside of New York City. It weaves through a large wetland preserve with giant stands of pine and cypress trees.
