Blind Hunter Kills Raccoons |
You've probably razzed a hunting buddy with this line before: "You couldn't hit the broad side of a barn!" Or maybe some jab to your friend about, "Get your eyes checked."
South Carolina native Jason Patrick has heard it before, but everyone who's told him has been wrong. Patrick lives for hunting raccoons, and does so exclusively in the dark. And not "in the dark" at night; Jason was born blind.
A regular at Roblyn's Trophy Club, Patrick is not only an inspirational coon hunter, he's an excellent coon hunter — and he comes equipped with his own personally trained dog, gear and truck.
Yup. As Patrick says, "Even a blind coon hunter needs a truck and a gun."
So the next time you're struggling to connect with a shot, try this: Shoulder your gun, look away and then let your hunting buddy direct you with his eyes ... it works for Jason Patrick.
