Video: Giant Bull Elk At 1 Yard
Giant Bull Elk
No doubt you've seen videos of successful elk bowhunts. Usually the caller hides back in the dark timber, while the shooter finds a spot 10-30 yards in front of the caller with clear shooting lanes in the direction of a bugling bull.

The problem is elk don't always cooperate, as evidenced by this heart-stopping 60-second video clip of man vs. beast. Look close and you'll see that the bowhunter's arrow is on the right-hand (wrong!) side of the tree, which prevents him from swinging his bow to the left. Can you imagine being that close to a bull elk and still eating tag soup? It'd be a tough one to explain to your hunting friends, that's for sure.

As for the video being a bit blurry, well, think of it this way: You probably wouldn't be seeing (or thinking) straight after an encounter like that anyway.
