The Best Bet In Big-Game Hunting |
You're not stupid; you understand hunting is hunting, and fair-chase dictates you might not get a shot, regardless of how hard you hunt or what you've paid an outfitter. Even so, as you consider how to spend your hard-earned Jacksons, you want a reasonably high chance of success. Not a guarantee of a punched tag, but a smart species choice and an outfitter who will do everything he can to put the odds in your favor.
Meet Todd Loewen of Red Willow Outfitters. Todd was born and raised near a small town in west-central Alberta that you've never heard of (Valleyview), and he got into the guiding/outfitting business because, well, hunting was in his blood.
Todd and his guides specialize in bruiser black bears, and because the bag limit is two, you get more bang for your buck.
Getting to Valleyview is easy. Simply book a flight to Edmonton and then rent a car and drive a few hours (all-highway miles) to Todd's lodge. The habitat surrounding Red Willow Outfitters is home to unexpected species such as muleys and elk, as well as the usual suspects — black bears, whitetails, moose and wolves.
