Celebrity Survives 13 Helicopter Crashes!
Larry Weishuhn No, Jessica Simpson didn't lose her mind and steal a helicopter only to crash it into pursuing paparazzi—but the headline is 100 percent true.

Longtime readers of North American Hunter magazine and viewers of "NAH-TV" certainly know the name Larry Weishuhn. From anchoring "You Call the Shots" pages and TV segments to hosting his own hunting shows, this soft-spoken Texan is the definition of "been there, done that."

One of Mr. Whitetail's most fascinating "achievements" is he has walked away from 13 helicopter crashes. Yes, 13!

How is that possible?

"As hard as it is to believe, not a single pilot or passenger was seriously injured in any of the crashes," Larry recalled. "A big factor in me living to talk about the crashes is the fact they happened at low altitude, usually less than 100 feet. Every one of these incidents occurred while I was conducting white-tailed deer population surveys in Texas. Causes of the crashes varied from total engine failure to the pilot forgetting to put gas in the tank! After unlucky No. 13 many years ago, I swore I'd never climb back into a helicopter, and I haven't since."
