The New Reel Mower Everyone is Talking About |
If you love the idea of mowing in an eco-friendly way but refuse to buy a reel mower because they're clunky, heavy, and ineffective, you're not alone. For years, we've felt the same way.
But it turns out there's a new reel mower in town, and it's nothing like the old-fashioned kind we cursed during childhood chores. The Momentum reel mower from Fiskars (the same folks who make those nifty hand tools with bright orange handles) requires 30 percent less force to push than standard reel mowers, and the blade doesn't need annual sharpening.
The Momentum also has twice as much power to cut through weeds, small twigs, and dense grass — the stuff that clogs other reel mowers. It has such a smooth feel that we've even found ourselves fighting other family members to take over lawn-mowing chores.
