Green Choices for Garden Furniture |
We all care about being green, but it can be confusing and time-consuming to figure out whether the things we buy for our yard and garden are harmful to the environment.
That's what the Garden Furniture Scorecard from the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) is all about. This handy guide helps you make an eco-conscious decision about buying outdoor furniture, which is often made from tropical hardwood harvested by companies that are destroying rainforests.
The NWF surveyed major retailers to see who carries products certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. FSC-certified products are made of wood from sustainably managed forests. If you see that logo, you can be sure the furniture is good for people, animals, and the planet.
