Give Crappies a Piggyback Ride |
|
|
Crappies that bite with reckless abandon don't bite long—they're soon swimming in hot oil and cracker crumbs. Those that keep their lips together, however, survive to make a whole different kind of fry. And those fish grow up to be just high maintenance.
Oklahoma guide Barry Morrow knows this. He makes a living putting clients on limits while fishing Lake Eufaula, one of the most popular crappie waters around.
A big reason for his success is the ability to make baits stand out to fish that see plenty of 'em. One of his favorite ways to do it is piggybacking.
No, he doesn't let his clients get on his back. He tips a Fuzz-E-Grub with a second, smaller body, just as he would a minnow.
The added bulk helps fish home in on the bait in the chocolate-stained water, and it provides a different profile that tempts even fish that have seen it all.
When you're lipping a Frisbee-size crappie that falls for this presentation, be sure to snap a photo and upload it to Lindy's site for bragging rights.
Visit Lindy's "Trophy Room" right now to see what other anglers have been bragging about. |
