This'll Change How You Fish
Z Boards
They're not sexy, but planer boards are a scary-good way of covering water and putting baits in front of stripers, salmon, trout, walleyes and other species. For years, anglers have only had a couple options on this front, but a company that just popped up on the radar promises to change that.

Z Boards are easy to rig, and they're designed to "trip" when a fish hits. You fight the fish without the added pressure of the board.

The design also lets you easily retrieve an outside line from a trolling spread without the usual fire drill: Just snap the rodtip to release the board, and reel it right to the boat.

Learn how to rig Z Boards and see how well they handle everything from mono to lead core to heavy copper line — check out the video.

Z Boards come in five sizes; you can buy 'em online or check your local bait shop.
