A Better Way To Rig A Swimbait |
If you don't already know about hollow swimbaits, it can only mean you've been abducted by aliens and held captive. Had you been on planet Earth with the rest of us, you'd have been pelted by a barrage of articles, TV shows and Internet chatter about these phenomenal baits.
Despite the spotlight, many anglers still have a hard time rigging the lures so they run true. Typically, the hook is off-center or the lure body is bent or distorted. Here's a new jig that avoids these common problems. The Canyon Plastics Hollow Body Swimbait Head is flat, matching the shape of most hollow swimbaits' nose cavity.
Just cut a short slit down the rear third of the lure's back and slide the head into place before popping the eye out the top of the bait. The thin, flat head easily slides into place, without distorting the lure's shape or throwing off its killer action.
Canyon Plastics offers them in 1/4-, 3/8- and 1/2-ounce sizes.
