A Rare And Rude Frog |
Few anglers outside the Southeast have ever heard of the Rude Frog, but you can be sure that won't last long. The Frog is just one of the soft plastic baits created by Earl Carswell and Jack Huggins, a pair of bass-loving neighbors in Florida who decided that making lures would be way more fun and a lot less stressful than regular jobs. So, Tuscaroran Pro-Lures, named in honor of Jack's Native American ancestors, was born.
But the partners are finding that things aren't going as planned — the baits have become so popular among the anglers who do know about them, the guys are working harder than they ever intended.
That's because the Rude Frog, Tomahawk (think swimbait, buzzbait and fluke rolled into one), Cherokee Ripper, Tee Pee Stix, Yama Craw and their other creations just plain catch bass — especially bass that look like they're on steroids.
