Ever wonder why so many artificial lures look like things fish never actually see? Spinnerbaits? Creature-style soft plastics? They work, sure, but putting them in front of fish is kind of like serving a Tibetan Sherpa a Klondike Bar.
Doesn't it make more sense — especially on pressured waters — to show fish lures that look like things that actually exist in their world?
That's why Berkley just hatched its all-new Gulp! Hellgramite last week at the fishing industry's annual trade show, ICAST.
The lure is a carbon copy of the dobson fly larvae, a critter that gets wolfed down by practically everything that swims. Plus, it's crafted out of Berkley's potent Gulp! softbait material and pumps out an almost overpowering scent to attract fish and trigger strikes.
The Hellgramite is actually one of several new Gulp! softbaits Berkley just unveiled at the show.
