16-Pound Bass Soaks Steve Pennaz

You know it's a real monster when NAFC Executive Director Steve Pennaz says it's "the biggest bass I've ever seen!" Odds are you'll say the same after watching the video.

And if you want a shot at catching it, you know where to go: Caddo Lake, in Texas. Pennaz recently went to the Lone Star State, and paid a visit to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center and its highly praised ShareLunker program.

ShareLunker encourages anglers who have caught 13-pound-plus largemouth bass to lend or "donate" them to the program for spawning purposes. As you'll see, Pennaz got a very close look at the program's biggest bass of the year, just before it was released.

Another cool aspect of the ShareLunker program is that it records where each fish was caught. You can view a map that highlights where each bass came from ... might give you a few ideas next time you're looking for a new lake to fish.
