Unbelievable Photos of Record Fish |
|
|
Every angler dreams of catching big fish, but a 250 pounder probably exceeds even what you see in your dreams. Not so for Roberto Godi. The Italian angler recently caught a 250-pound wels catfish that, once approved, will break the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) all-tackle record.
Godi was fishing with live breme in Mantova, Italy when he hooked the fish and began a 45-minute battle that culminated with a live release of the river monster.
The most incredible part of the story is that it's not necessarily the most incredible catch on the IGFA website. Depending on what you fish for, you might be more impressed by the record-breaking brookie a little Colorado kid caught, the redear sunfish landed by an Alabama man named Mann, or the 77-pound sturgeon that could become one teen-ager's 127th record-breaking catch. There are mind-blowing photos of all three of these fish, plus pictures of unusual species such as a ripsaw catfish, wreckfish (190 lbs) and Thai shark catfish—just click here and scroll down the page.
By now, your interest is probably piqued. What's the biggest white crappie ever caught? The biggest walleye? Flathead catfish? Smallmouth bass?
Find out the current world record for whatever your favorite species is ... so you know what to gun for. |
