Pay Attention to This Tease |
|
|
Nothin' tastes better than golden-fried crappie fillets, so if you want to enjoy more of 'em, check out the Atomic Teaser. At first glance it looks like your average tube, but toss it in the water and you'll quickly see it's anything but.
Here's the ingredients list for some fun fishing and great eating:
- 1 medium/light spinning rod, preferably a 6 or 6 ½ footer with a soft tip
- 1 light spinning reel, loaded with 2- or 4-pound FireLine
- 1 handful of 1/32- or 1/16-ounce Berkley Atomic Teasers (Smoke Pumpkin is tough to beat)
- 1 lake with crappies (slabs preferred)
To start, tie the tube directly to the line (that's right, no leader material) and target fish in 6 to 14 feet of water. Casting with the wind will give you plenty of distance. Let the Atomic Teaser sink up to a count of six, then start retrieving using small twitches, followed by a pause.
The darting action of the Atomic Teaser (named so because it's tipped with a tiny PowerWorm for action and scent), perfectly mimics two of the crappie's favorite meals: bugs and minnows.
Since FireLine floats, you'll see more bites than you actually feel; if all goes according to plan, you'll soon be enjoying your sense of taste, too.
