Get the Most Bass-for-Your-Buck |
|
|
Last time we checked, the government wasn't giving anglers money to stimulate the fishing industry ... which means you have to save cash where you can. Here's a tip for getting the most bass-for-your-buck: Assemble a swimbait first-aid kit.
We all know these soft baits are often damaged when a fish strikes, or during the fight, usually resulting in a split nose that won't stay on the screw lock that's common on swimbait hooks.
A dab of superglue will easily mend the tear, which will hold things tight for another fish or two. Next step is to glue the screw lock itself to the bait's nose; that usually squeaks out a few more bass.
Back at home, you can take swimbaits to the operating table. Bend the tag end of a paper clip out and heat it lightly over the kitchen stove's burner. Use the heated wire to soften both inside edges, then squeeze the nose together for a few moments and the bait will once again be ready for action.
Now that you're thinking swimbaits, take a look at the Davis Bait Swimbait Hook. |
