Go Cordless, Ditch the Compressor

Senco Fusion F-15
Using a cordless nailer simplifies a project big time. No lugging around an air compressor or wrangling with the air hose. And the new Senco Fusion F-15 cordless finish nailer has set the bar higher for this category.

A self-contained air chamber drives the nail, and a Lithium-Ion Phosphate (LiFePo4) battery powers the Fusion's compression. The battery can reach an 80 percent charge in 15 minutes and can drive up to 500 nails — even in bump-fire mode. And that's on a single charge.

We put the Fusion F-15 through the paces on two HANDY projects, and it's one of the nicest cordless nailers we've used: There are no extra gas cylinders to mess with, and it never misfired, providing flawless rapid-fire nail delivery. At only 6 lbs., the heavy-duty, lightweight nailer was comfortable to use all day. (The Fusion is also available in an 18-gauge version.)
