A "Look Ma, No Rails!" Miter Saw |
Tool-event season is upon us. It's that time of year when tool companies host media gatherings to show off their latest and greatest.
Bosch kicked off the season with a two-day shindig at the company's North American headquarters in Mt. Prospect, Ill. Bosch is rolling out a plethora of new tools and accessories in 2010 — forty, at least.
The consensus showstopper had to be the new Bosch 12-in. miter saw (GCM12SD). The big innovation: It has no rails. Instead, the motor and blade glide on the Axial Glide System, a mechanism that looks like something off the International Space Station. It's so smooth that the engineers actually had to add an adjustable damper to increase friction. Another plus is that it fits — and fully functions — on a 24-in.-deep bench.

New Router Combo Kit. Bosch also introduced the 2.3 HP Router Combo kit (MRC23EVSK), which sports handy, in-handle triggers.
Let There Be Music! Improving on an already impressive jobsite radio, Bosch rolled out the fun, feature-loaded newest version of the PowerBox 360 radio (PB360D).
