Cordless Trimmer ... Sounds Good
Ryobi's 18-volt string trimmer We first tried Ryobi's 18-volt string trimmer ... on carpeting at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Obviously, not its intended use. So we brought it back to HANDY land for testing on a half-acre lot.

There are no long cords to drag around and no small-engine hassles. And the trimmer's high-capacity 18-volt One+ lithium-ion battery (which fits many cordless tools) easily handled 30 minutes of near-continuous trimming. Battery charge time: 45 minutes.

We also liked its excellent balance, adjustable shaft and comfortable overmolded handles. The trimmer has an automatic line feed, so there's no need to bump the coil. There were a few times the line seemed a little too short before more was fed out, but it didn't really slow down the job.

Of course, by choosing an electric trimmer (no gas required), you help keep the planet a greener place.

More One+ Battery Products. Ryobi's 18-volt string trimmer is good for residential use, especially if you have other Ryobi cordless tools that can share the battery. Here is a list of those other tools that are supported by the 18-volt One+ lithium-ion battery.
