Video: We Do Do Windows |
|
|
Wanna be Mom's "favorite" on Mother's Day? Clean her windows! No kidding.
Window washing isn't sweet and sentimental; but a crystal clear, freshly washed window is a thing of beauty that'll catch her eye immediately (and endure in her memory forever). You may dread the washing part, but here's a simple method that we've tried — and have recommended. It actually made us heroes with Mom.
Most weekend window washers do it all wrong. Forget about spray cleaners and newspapers; it's all about the squeegee!
The fancy, swirling squeegee techniques that pros use add efficiency but aren't necessary for great results. A basic side-to-side or top-to-bottom method (see video)
produces sparkling windows in a fraction of the time you spend using a spray bottle and going through rolls of paper towels.
Cost? Get all the basic gear for less than $30, including a 12-in. scrubber, 12-in. squeegee, bucket, micro-fiber cloth and razor scraper. Don't scrimp on the squeegee; get a pro-quality squeegee that's designed to clean windows.
